Today was our first day of Homeschool in our house! I am so excited for this school year. I stayed up late reading hundreds of ideas for the first day of school and finally got overwhelmed and fell asleep.
Anyone else struggle with trying to do all the things? Here are the few that we landed on and that made today really fun.
First, we made rainbow sprinkle pancakes for breakfast as a special surprise.
Then, we sat together on our rug and prayed for the school year.
I helped them each fill out a prayer for the school year on these cute printouts. For Kinder and below, you can let them tell you what to write.
Older kids can write out their own prayers for the year. I plan to do this every year no matter how we do school. These will be fun for the kids to read when they are grown and to see the ways that God has been faithful to answer our prayers.
I love it so much so far because my 2nd, 1st, and Pre Kindergartener were all engaged!
Last, we made a homeschool vision board or dream board. I just laid butcher paper out on the table and the kids told me what they were most excited for about this year. I think this will be good to refer to on those difficult days where they might miss going to school and seeing friends.
We are totally new at this whole homeschooling thing, so we would love to hear your ideas! What do you do on the first day or week of school?
